You can look on any baby care website, or in one of those "What to Expect..." books. Or, just take all the answers you get and compile them. Someone may list something no one else thought of. Some basics I can remember are:
onesies in all sizes
socks
sleepers
bath supplies - lotion, baby oil, baby bath, baby powder, nail clippers, towels, washcloths, brush
bathtub
vaseline, Desitin, infant Tylenol
thermometer
baby monitor
bibs
bottles and bottle brush
pacifiers
burp cloths
blankets (receiving and thicker ones)
outdoor wear (jacket or sweater and hat - snowsuit if necessary)
lap changing pads
waterproof pads for bassinet and/or crib mattress
sheets for bassinet and/or crib
nose aspirator (the sucker thing!)
cotton balls/q-tips
musical mobile for crib, if desired (my daughter still likes hers at age 2!)
some small baby toys, and a stuffed animal or doll
diapers, can be all sizes, not just newborn
baby wipes
diaper pail if desired
These are just some I can think of. Hope it helps a bit.

Chances are that even if you have everything made for a baby, you will only use a handful of it. So it becomes a question of what is wanted and what is needed for the baby. I prefer the what is needed to bring my baby home approach.
That includes:
carseat
diapers/ wipes
baby soap/ shampoo
oneies
booties or socks
gowns
1 or 2 outfits
a few blankets (thin and thick)
My babies slept in bed with me. I used the same towels as the rest of the family. I carried the baby in a sling. I breastfeed. I did sponge baths and then took the baby in the bathtub with me for bathes. We stayed home for the first several weeks.
By the time I felt like going out, the baby was out of newborn clothes and so I had a reason to go into the world.

Ask your Mom what you will need since she has already gone thru it with you. Times may have changed but the needs of a child has not. Relax and don't stress because that isn't good for your baby either. If you are still concerned ask your ped for advice or go to Babies R Us and ask them for sample lists of what other Mom's and Dad's has registered for. Also wait and see what you get for the holidays and your Baby shower. Most times you get all that Baby will need besides your love and affection.

Make sure you have bottles, blankets, and so on. There are books you can read and also talk to your mom or other woman who are mothers. Having a stock pile of diapers and baby wipes are always a pulse. You can never have enough. newborn diapers will not last very long unless you have a small baby. Size one will work for newborns as well. It well come as you go do not stress on it. Just relax and enjoy it.

I am due late April and this is where I got my list.
The site below has everything you would possibly need. If site doesn't work its www.statefarm.com then planning and learning under the tab then select the life events and stages. I had this book from five years ago and love it.
This is a site for state farm, they send a great pregancy book by Mayo Clinic and it has more than enough information you will need.
http://www.sf.pii.orders.com/events/birth/
This site has some of the basics you need.

Yes, you can find through books, internet, videos, etc...... But the best and fast way is to ask someone that you know and had babies before. Why not start with your own mom. They are the best since you are well taken care of so far.

Book by Penelope Leach, "Your Baby and Child, From Birth to Age 5". A book I found while pregnant, and it was the best! Tells you all you need to know. I couldn't put it down.

I know of a great book: Getting Ready For Baby.
Online, you may want to check the Babies R Us website. I think if you poke around there, you will find a list of great things to have.
