I had a tubaligation almost 8 years ago. I have been having problems with my cycle for the last 6 months. For the last 3, serious signs of pregnancy. I have had my cycle, but they are not normal. My breasts are huge and tender, especially today. Urinating more and I'm so tired. The obgyn says that I must be stressed out, believe me it's no more today than any other day. They ran some tests in October, ultrasound and tyroid. The ultrasound showed a possible fybroid in my uterus, the obgyn isn't concerned. Tyroid test came back normal. I've taken a couple of pregnancy tests, everything is negative. I was 5 days late last month, but the bleeding was very irregular - not nearly as heavy as normal. The doc put me on progesterone, which I only took for a day...terrible migraine from it. I'm 34 and have had 3 children. I am not new to the pregnancy symptoms, but I'm concerned that I may be losing my mind here. Can anyone give me some advice? I don't see the doc until 12-08-06

Have a blood pregnancy test. They are accurate. Just go to a lab, have the test and you will know tomorrow.

You could be going through early menopause or the possible fibroid could be having effects. If the concern is that high, perhaps you could go to an urgent care center or the ER. Your mental health is worth more than a co-pay, and if there is something seriously wrong like ovarian or malignant uterine cancer? Waiting could jeopardize your physical health.

I'm sorry to worry you more, but my toddler son had prostate cancer which was misdiagnosed as a UTI. It could have killed him had we not taken him to the ER when we did -- his liver was close to failure. He lost the ability to urinate and had to have a catheter; had they considered other diagnoses than one based off of the UTI symptoms of a woman (something every doctor after was surprised the Urgent Care doc had done), he might have been able to avoid the serious damage emergency catheterization at the ER gave him.

Your kids needs you to feel confident; consider asking to be slid into any open appointments today then going to the ER tonight if your doctor is so overbooked s/he can't attend to you as a doctor should.

I've had a tubal ligation for eight and 1/2 years; stress does change my period, and it is the holidays -- family, kids, etc. are bound to have some effect, but if you've never had it before, check medical before mental, especially with the possible fibroid.

well sometimes the brain can trick the body.. thinking you are preggo for a long time and worring about it could cause the signs of pregnancy.... it is very rare that after having your tubes tied you will get preggo.. but some do.. I say that is has something to do with the tyroid I would head to another doctor and see what he says never hurts to get a second opinion in a situation like this one..... Good Luck

You could be going through the early symptoms of menopause.

Or the fibroid tumor is causing these symptoms. I went through both at the same time(fibroid tumors and menopause). I had all kinds of weird things going on. I wasn't much older than you are now.

They had me on 2 different artificial hormones and 3 different steroids. All I did was gain a lot of weight. I told the doctor I just wanted a hysterectomy. He reluctantly agreed. That was the best decision I ever made!

I know your still young but it could be menopause, but maybe the tests will come back with something different. I honestly can't see what else it could be.
