The show ended on a cliffhanger. The producers were hoping that CBS would allow ALF to have another season so that the show could come up with an ending. However, the CBS brass refused to let the show have a concrete ending.
Years later, ABC did a TV movie called "Project ALF" which showed what happened to ALF after the CBS show was cancelled.

Six years ago, ALF was on his way back to his new home... When the Alien Task Force finally caught him. Now, the story continues to where the series ended. The Alien Task Force now protects ALF, but the leader wants to terminate him. So two officers decide to save ALF by kidnapping him. But the man the officers took ALF to wants to finally reveal him to the world. Which leads him to more danger...

He went back to MelMac; its a long, long way away.
Like almost all things on TV, they get knocked off by new things that advertisers will pay big money to wrap around their commercials. Alf started over twenty years ago. He did pretty good.

It was cancelled. Remember the neighbors, the Ockmonicks. The episode where Alf refers to them as "ouch my neck" - that's been an 'inside joke' for our family for years and years. Weird!

That little brown fella used to freak me out in a kind of weird perverse manner... I had a poster of him on my wall when I was little as I liked the show but it used to scare the living bejeezers out of me.....f*ked up really but hey ho! lol.....oh... no idea what happened to him...probable got fleas by now!

I think he finally went back home they should bring him back the show was funny I think one of those animal rights orgs.got involved and voiced their discust on how alf liked eating cats then the show was pulled

He still shows up on the nick at night channel and does small appearances and does commentary for certain shows. The TV series ended with the military capturing him. And you never know what happens to him after that.

The show was cancelled a long time ago. The suit is prbably sitting in some warehouse now. I liked the show too.
