they poop on their clothes a lot, so it depends.
but you don't want urine/poop clothes sitting around
so you will be doing a lot of laundry.
about seven things to wear is good.
of course if it's winter the seven things will be warm.
in the summer they need hardly any clothes.
just a diaper at home.
then some shorts and a top to go out.
only 3-5 outfits.
you will be washing these 7 things a lot...
but the baby will grow out of them very fast.
so don't buy a lot of clothes for each size.
put it in the college fund instead.
babies don't care what they wear.
save it for when they want designer jeans in high school.

If you are talking about for a day out...I always take at least 2 changes of clothes with me where ever I go, just in case my daughter spits up, spills something or one of the other 101 ways she gets dirty. If you are going to be gone all day I would take 3 changes of clothes just to be safe.
If you are talking in general, how many changes of clothes do they need in their closet...I would say no less than 20, unless you want to do a ton of laundry everyday.

it ordapends how much mess is made by food etc but its not how many changes of clothes its the layers a baby should be wearing a baby should always have a layer more than an adult on and it is quite handy to have a change of clothes just to be on the safe side "nuff said" lol

One to wear, one to wash and two in the cupboard.
Obviously people will want more than this but if you're strapped for cash, then four outfits should do it.

millions and millions , no seariously about a dozens fine that way you have enough time for a wait till wash day besides too manys a waste as they grow out of them so quickly!

it depends on if they spit up a lot or not. It is safe to carry at least two more outfits in the diaper bag you never know when they may poop though or throw up.

it depends whether you mean daily or altogether. daily may be2-3 outfits altogether well A LOT.
