The only thing I'm aware of in the PBS is a review of healthcare research, which is something that Gordon Brown asked Cooksey to do in March.

I'm not sure that he's changed the contribution to the medical research Council today. (If I've missed that, aplogies. I'm not going to read the full text. I'm not paid enough) He's just seeking to ensure that the money on research is spent as well as possible.

However, I think that it's good when politicians views are shaped by real life, though obviously they shouldn't, and despite your cynicism don't, splash taxpayers money around on the hoof to their favourite interest groups, (well not in the UK. Obviously there's not the same level of oversight regarding the USA governments donations to Oil companies and corrupt Iraqi politicians).

It is true, Gordon's son has Cystic Fibrosis. Research into this illness is funded by the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. At the same time NHS funded research into a cure continues. No extra funding is forthcoming from government for the present.

I don't know who Gordon Brown is but good luck on that wishing cystic fibrosis on his son. Whatever point you are trying to make is lost on the hate thing.

If you cared at all about anyone other than yourself then you would realise how offensive this question is.

The cynicism makes me sick.

In any case more money hasn't been found for research. Why not donate some yourself - the CF Trust will be pleased to hear from you.
