You use the Greek letter "sigma" (it looks like an "s", but with the bottom loop closed).

"sigma+" shows a partial positive charge, and "sigma-" shows a partial negative charge.

Place the sign next to the element it is referring to, at the end of the polar covalent bond. Each polar bond must have a "sigma+" and a "sigma-" end.
