Yes, the best thing to do is to keep your perfume in the box it came in. It keeps it cooler and out of direct sunlight. Some people say that perfume naturally denatures over about a year, I don't think that's true if you keep it in the box. I have perfumes I bought 3+ years ago that still smell as fresh as when I first got them.

Yes. All perfumes will go off, some more than others. The trick to stop this if you want to put them out on display to show them off is to keep them in their box. That way you can impress everyone with what perfume you have but still have it smelling great in years to come (if a bottle will last you that long).

I keep all my perfumes in a drawer. Sure it may be nice to have all your bottles displayed but being left in the open will effect the perfume. If you REALLY want to keep it out, find a place where the sunlight does not hit.

Yes - the direct sunlight will affect the alcohol content and so the fragrance

De natured that refers to the process of adding methyl alcohol to ethanol in flavour or fragrances or in biology the act of heat or uv light on proteins. What actually happens is that the uv rapidly speeds up the oxidation of the perfume giving bitter notes and destroys the colour. If bergamot is used in the formulation carcinogenic compounds can form.

Hi,
I agree with Dickie.
Aftershave stuff -
If the alcohol base evaporates by not bunging the cap on firmly, you end up with an oily goo.
Unuseable and most pungent, but interesting if you like a "farmyard" touch to things.
Bob.
