Wednesdays are the middle of the work week for many. So when you reach Wednesday, you are "over the hump" so to speak.

It means that Wednesday is the middle of the week therfore the "hump". After that is is down hill to the weekend. Monday starts another uphill.

Dana is right. If you are "over the hump", you are going downhill towards the weekend. "hump" originally meant a hill.

god bless
