How long will an honest man survive in the Bush administration?

"We are not fighting a war to win." What the hell does that mean?

Listen retards, I know he also said we are not losing it, but he is the only one, ever, in the administration to not put on rose glasses and claim victory. Can one ever be subtle with conservatives or does everything have to be spelled out?

Once again, let me spell it out. The "honest man" reference was to this specific statement. I really don't believe that Bush would ever nominate anybody honest on purpose.

I agree but I think he will last awhile.. he is really good friends with the Bush family. Yes he said we aren't losing either, to admit losing is admitting defeat and therefore would mean we would have to pull out... but the fact that he admitted we are not winning when all you have heard Bush say is "We are winning this war", is a relief.. to hear someone be open and honest about the situations that are going on in Iraq... Bush downplays everything, at least someone is admitting it is going in the wrong direction and changes need to be made

OK first and for most Gates is not an Honest man look up his track record and yes i agree that we are not doing what we want to in Iraq but i also don't think that we should be over due to the lie and manipulation of the American people to fear when we should fear our self's and our own self destruction....No Politician is Honest man

So

All war ends in a loss for all those involved.

Only the contractors win in a war.

Gee, they could have just ask me, I would have told them that for a lot less money. How long did Colin Powell last, honesty doesn't last in the Bush administration.

He also said we are not losing it either. He could not honestly say we are winning or losing.

Is anyone else suprised that the vast majority of the media only picked up on the "not winning" sound bite?

You completely misrepresent his position. He was framing this in the context of we are not winning or losing. We are not fighting a war to win. Quit the leftie talking points and tell the truth.

How do you figure that Gates is an honest man.

Do some research on him.
