I have wondered that for a long time myself. I too have had friends that I have been in contact with for a long time then suddenly they disappear and never hear from them again.
I am dealing with this right now with a friend from Ireland, Brian Od is his name. and if anyone knows anything about him I would like to know.
But you are correct, I wish there was some way to find out. Maybe their family should go into their message boards and emails and send out a letter to the effect that something has happened...it is a thought anyway.

Through another friend of the other person's that knows about you. Unless nobody else knows about you. Then I wouldn't know.
