My 7-month old daughter sleeps ~ 11 hours at night (I KNOW!!!). The only problem is that when she wakes in the morning her pjs are soaked through in the front (sleeps on her belly). This happens often. Can anyone reccomend a diaper that would prevent this. I currently am using Pampers Swaddlers Size 2.

You could try going up a size in diapers, I've had this problem several times with my son and each time I go up a size in diapers (even though he's not quite at the weight that it says on the package). I usually have to go up a size when he is about 2 or 3 pounds under the weight that they recommend, like I'm actually having to go up a size right now, he weighs 24lbs, but I need to go up to a size 5 which is for 27+lbs. So don't always go by the package. I have found that Pampers is the best kind of diaper for leakage, I tried Huggies and they leaked the worst, even during the day when he was changed frequently! I haven't tried Luvs though, but you're always going to get people that disagree on which brand is the best, it's all about what works for your baby. I would try this before waking her up in the middle of the night to change her, I know what it's like to do that and it's not fun for anyone! Good luck. And by the way, that's awesome that she sleeps so long during the night, sounds like you're doing a good job!!

I've had the same problem, with 2 different brands of diaper. Sometimes it seems we just had a few nights of that occasionally, but it's never been an all the time thing. Last time it happened, I started using a size 3 at night time, instead of the size 2 we used during day. Like your daughter, mine has always slept on her belly, so the diaper would creep down a bit with all the scrunching up and moving around. Try that, using a bigger size at night. But you can't always prevent it, so don't get upset or discouraged. It happens no matter what sometimes. I would stick with the same brand.

Pampers Swaddlers are great diapers. I loved them and I also like Huggies natural fit diapers. Both in my opinion are the best and fit a baby really good. However 11 hours is a lot for any diaper to hold. I would suggest maybe getting up during the night to change her.

I use Huggies Supreme for night diapers, and Huggies regular during the day. I started using the supremes because of leaking and a very good night sleeper 11-12 hrs. He's now almost 10 months.

Ditto the Huggies Overnights! My daughter is 2 and never really started leaking until earlier this year and they have been, for the most part, life savers. BUT...she does sometimes leak through those even, but remember....she is also 2 years old.

Someone on another website mentioned something to me about these inserts you can get, as well, at Babies R Us. Now for the LIFE of me I can't remember the name of them...but I know our store didn't have any.

Others have even mentioned trying to put a maxi pad inside the diaper, as well, to help with it. I haven't tried that, either.

Just some thoughts! :)

We went through this just recently and we tried different diapers. The diapers we tried were not any better than the other. We tried the Huggies overnights and it did a little better. It actually only lasted a few weeks and he got over that. Its weird because they were the same age. I know how you feel, I had to wash sheets every day.

My baby used to flood 2 huggies overnight (no pampers here in Australia)- i'd change one in the middle of the night and one in the morning. I had to put a waterproof mat and folded nappy square under to protect the bedding. Then i started doing what the mum's in developing countries do - pottying my baby. After the last feed of the night i hold baby over the potty in a squat position and baby goes to the toilet most times (it's called elimination communication - i do it in the daytime too, but started nights months after we started days).

Now at 9mo, baby has dry nights every couple of nights! When baby is wet in the morning, it's not a flood like previously.

Give it a try... you've got nothing to lose.

try any other diaper also try changing her during the night. Remember when she is in that diaper and soaks her clothes she may be getting cold from wet clothes. Check on her in the middle of the night and change her before she goes to bed even if a little wet.

At that age is really actually common for babies to have blow outs through out the night... give it a few weeks and it won't happen as much anymore. In the mean time, I suggest that you change her once during the night, that's a long time to be in one diaper. Good Luck!

The brand you mentioned is cut to give baby more mobility and during the day that's great but at night a different story for girls with those. . Mabey try a different type of Pampers at night. If she could mabey start wearing a #3 (I know it's sad- they get so big) the extra absorbency could help too.
