Looking for a family vacation in AZ this winter. We already live here (in Tucson) and have seen much of the "must sees." Thinking of renting an RV. Oak Creek is beautiful, but it doesn't offer much to do. Any ideas on a place that is pretty and woodsy like Oak Creek, Flagstaff, etc, but has a lot to do for a pregnant mom, dad and one year old?

Maybe Williams AZ...beautiful woodsy area. There is the Grand Canyon Railway, take a trip through the area on the train and stop at the canyon then return trip. If you go before the first week in Jan, there is the Polar Express Santa train at night. The Grand Canyon Deer Farm just outside of Williams is excellent for families, we go every year. Out of Africa is between Sedona & Phoenix so a good place to stop on the way back for a day.

Perhaps try the Payson area. It is snowy and beautiful and there is shopping nearby. It is a bit closer to civilization than Oak Creek is.

I also love Jerome Az. That is a fun "ghost town" and has a lot of the original buildings from the copper boom. There are a ton of shops, Inns and historical sights.

Renting RV is the best choice. Are you into fishing? hiking?....Lake Pleasant is booming at recent days...Maybe drop by and visit it.....Sedona is also a beautyful place for sight seeing..
I always love Flagstaff and its surrounding area.
