I am thinking of joining a team. but I have schoolwork. you see I am a straight A student, and I want to know if its really worth it.

Depends... Are you one of the straight A dorks, how would go out there and feel self conscience? Or do you enjoy a little down time. If you team is decent and you have good players ( good as in fun to be around) then I think softball is a great activity.
You could always miss a game if you needed to for schoolwork.

All forms of ball is fun. Except mixed softball. That's just a sham because guys are trying to impress the girls by either showing off or playing down and goofing around because they think women would rather see that. And then there's always that one woman who's there because her friend brought her out and all that she knows about ball is that her sweat band looks cute on her. Tee-hee.
Women's softball or Men's softball is fun. Mixed is just a BBQ that where you can get sweaty.

I play 3 sports and i am still a straight A student,i dont mean to bragbut ima cheerleader, i play softball and basketball softball is a fun and wonderful sport it keeps you active and healthy

Softball can be a great activity if it's what you're interested in. As long as you can maintain your grades and play at the same time go for it.
As to the comment about co-ed ("mixed league"): I play in a co-ed league and the women are better than half the guys. Alot of them played college level ball and the games are highly competitive.

It really depends on the coach. A sport can be fun if the team is coached right. I had more fun running cross-country than playing basketball because of the difference in the coach.
I would say go for it, and play. Colleges do look at extracorricular (sp?) activities when you apply, and sports is always a good one.

i never played softball but i have played baseball for 8 years and it is fun but a lot of work and you have to practice every day and after a while you will get tiered and you will want to quit but if you really like it you will stick with it and then you will get beater and beter and then you will love the sport and you will play soft ball every year after that.

I don't think softball is so fun because baseball is more better then softball i guess mostly girl's play softball and boys mostly play baseball...

if u want to have fun go for softball if u want to study and get good marks,quit softball.i usually say yes and no, when i have more homework i'll do my work and when there is less homework i go for sports and when i come back i do it quickly.
