I used to live in London, but I went there for a visit last weekend, with my boyfriend. We did all the touristy things like going on the London Eye, going on the Tube, visiting museums, and walking down Oxford Street like fools, but all in all, it stressed me out. We went looking for wrapping paper in my nearest branch of Sainsburys, for example, a normal thing for most people, but I felt myself getting stressed out. I was slightly more relaxed on the Tube at rush hour but that was only because it is a novelty to me; imagine having to do that everyday! Everybody is ten times as rude there, barging past you all the time. At least where I live now, peole try to say sorry!

What I'm trying to say, I guess, is it's good for tourists, but it is a bit of a rat race, and I agree with Jamaican Girl. I don't know how I pulled it off for 21 years!

Though it depends where you live. The suburbs are slightly nicer, but more expensive.

Depends where you are from. I am from Scotland and find the weather much warmer than where I'm from. The people are nice but you have to talk to them first. The jobs pay well if you are skilled at something. The rents / houses are very high in the city centre but there are great commuter links - trains, buses etc. You can live quite far out and still get into central London in 20 minutes on the train. There is a large mix of people from all backgrounds and countries which makes London so wonderful. There are plenty of pubs and too many restaurants to count. I love living in London.

Horrible weather- too hot in summer, too cold in winter, incredibly expensive- you're lucky if you can afford to rent a room anywhere halfway decent, claustrophobic (no point in trying to walk fast as the pavements are crowded, and good luck if you fancy browsing the shops on Oxford Street), and with a public transport system that can make you angrier and more frustrated than you ever thought possible.

But hey, I love it!

Polluted and expensive. If you get work that pays well, it is possible to afford a reasonable place to live - otherwise it's a long and expensive commute to work.

I'm jamaican and i'm not too fund of it. Nothing beats Jamaica. Its cold in england and there's just something mechanical about it. Its not free flowing and light. Not for me, can't wait to go home.

Bad and good I would say. It's surely a nice and interesting city.On the other hand it's unaffordable, overcrowded and the weather is awful.
