So? Why, all of a sudden, Israel is an Antisemitic State? Jews are not anti-Arab, it is most Arabs who are anti-Jew!

"Semitic" refers to a language group and not to a people. The Arabs are . . . . Arabs.
Although Arabs themselves frequently speak of "anti-Semitism" as synonymous with anti-Jewishness -- before the 1947 partition, for example, Egyptian UN Representative Haykal Pasha warned the General Assembly that partition would bring "anti-Semitism" worse than Hitler's -- frequently they justify or obscure an anti-Jewish action by saying, "How can I be anti-Semitic? I'm a Semite myself." According to Professor S. D. Goitein, "the word 'semitic' was coined by an l8th-century German scholar, concerned with linguistics.... The idea of a Semitic race was invented and cultivated in particular in order to emphasize the inalterable otherness and alien character of the Jews living in Europe."

Correct. History and the good books confirm the story before Christ and to now. Fascists are anti semite in whatever age, aiming for that final cleansing.
The Palestinians are semites facing the loss of their heritage and lands. This is Zionism which appears to want to kick the " other" semites out . New walls are built. Does mankind never learn? The only hope is anti-fascism compassion rather than hate and greed and ignorance. Anti apartheid . Pro the good teachings. Whatever truths you can glean and hold true. Good question and some good answers.

You are wrong.
Even though a semite can refer to any semetic person, which would include Arabs and Jews, however the term "anti semite" and "anti semetic" was specifically coined in the 19th century to refer to "Jew Hatred" and not "Arab hatred" or "semite hatred". This is the dictionary definition and its general use.
In addition, you are trying to imply that Israel, by virtue of its existence I assume, is anti Arab. That implication alone is false, not to mention offensive, and I daresay, tinged with anti semitism.

well, the Israeli government is pretty anti-religious, but they're all jewish, so their not anti jewish, and p.s. they're not anti palestinians, they're anti the guys who try to blow up their children when they get on the bus to go to school in the morning, just like you and just like me. and, news flash, despite the liberal media showing only pictures of devastated palestinians and arabs crying over their ruined homes, dead israeli children from muslim suicide bombers happens much more often. and unlike Liberal delusional America, they are not inclined to embrace their killer, sing Kumbaya, and insist that they are a religion of peace. gimme a break

Judging by your posts, you have no problem with anti-Semitism. Does this mean you like the Israelis now?
