Porsche Is a German Name. The last name for Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche, the creator of the Volks Wagen, and his son Ferry Porsche, who branded the 356 as the first car to carry the family name. (Previously the only vehicle to carry the Porsche brand was a red tractor.)

Although there's ongoing debate, Being a German Name, it's only fair to pronounce the name in the mother tongue. Therefore the proper pronunciation of the Porsche name is PORSH-uh.

Hope this helps.

Some tend to vocalize the e, which results in /Por-SCHA/ Others, particularly in the United States, use the monosyllabic 'porsh/.

If you still did not get the pronunciation follow the link, you will find a few Mp3 sample; http://german.about.com/library/weekly/aa020401b.htm

Pronunciation of "Porsche"
"Porsche", a proper name, is pronounced correctly as, PORSH-uh, which is how members of the Porsche family pronounce their name.
Some, unfamiliar with the correct pronunciation, tend to vocalize the e, which results in their mispronouncing it, as Por-SCHA and others use the monosyllabic porsh ,which also is a mispronunciation.

Officially, it is pronounced "Poor - Shuh", but informally, it is pronounced "Poorsh". I have an uncle who has a Porsche Cayenne, and he still calls it a "Poorsh", although the people at the dealership all say "Poor - Shuh". If you are talking to any car guy, he will understand you either way. If you want to sound intelligent, say "Poor - Shuh", since that is the official way to pronounce Porsche.

I once watched a old TV interview of Dr. Ferdinand Porsche. He pronounced it "por-shuh". It's his name and he basically invented the cars that were named after him so I pronounce it that way too.
