hahahahah I have wondered myself on that one. I have used Netflix and was completely happy with their service. I just think Blockbuster is trying to compete in another arena that they just don't have the knack for. I have never got GREAT customer service in any store and won't try the online thing with them. I am going back to Netflix, where I can get all the movies I can watch and then some, get excellent customer service....all for one price!

Netflix has been renting movies over the internet for nearly TEN YEARS now. They did it first. Everyone else since has tried to copy them and failed. Remember Walmart's lame attempt? Last year, (YES just one year ago) Blockbuster decided they should use Netflixes 'model' and began renting movies from the net in a simular way. Blockbuster have been around longer, but they've NOT been renting from the net but for only a year. Netflix is the ORIGINAL here, they've had years to work out their bugs and to learn what their customers like and dislike. They listen to their customers, while Blockbuster Online is simply trying to copy Netflix! :-)

Blockbuster on-line and Netflix are identical. The prices are almost identical and the way they operate is the same.
The bricks and mortar Blockbuster is nice because if you decide you want to watch a movie at the last minute, you can drive to the nearest location and pick up a flick.

I like Netflix better because I don't have to take any additional time out of my day to return my DVDs. I just drop them in the mailbox on my way out of the door. Plus you get a CRAZY selection of films to choose from. Sometimes I select movie I would have never picked at Blockbuster based on the title and cover. I think Netflix is a BRILLIANT idea and I love it.

Blockbuster got lazy when it became the only game in town. So, service took a back seat. Now that it has competition again, these old habits are dying hard.
Netflix is young and hungry and wants to do right by its customers.
