I couldn't help but notcie this question - how truly interesting!
Yes and no - with me it depends on how well I know a person. People I know better tend to see my emotions more readily than people I don't know very well. I think human beings are typically guarded and more so when they feel wornged by people. In addition, there are some people I'm careful about who I show my emotions too, based upon past experiences with that person.
I certainly think that communication and honesty - especially in terms of feeling and emotions - is the best policy, but it isn't always what really happens.

Interesting question. Man is such a complicated person. Although I want to be able to show my true emotins all the time, I have difficulty doing it because Iam not a loner and I live in a society inhabited by different human beings who are all unique in their own ways. They may take offence to me expressing my true emotions at times. So my benchmark I think has to do with whether it is wholly appropriate to show one's true emotions at a given point of time.

Unfortunately, my emotions rule my life and show whether I want them to or not. People tell me that I wear my heart on my sleeve and that I am completely transparent. I sometimes wish that I could appear stronger and tougher - just for the respect.

Yes and no. The fear is present but I need to safely express myself or else the repressed emotions will create dis-ease within me. I was taught it was not safe to express what I felt for fear of reprisal from my caregivers. They would rather I betrayed myself than to have them be personally responsible for their incorrect actions/reactions to their imprinting from their childhoods. I am choosing to stop the cycle of emotional abuse and be true to me.It is now safe for me to be me. I am a spiritually aware adult living with integrity because I love me and not a raging fearful four year old that needs to war on the world to feel safe.

People don't want to know the true emotions of others. Over half the population is reportedly depressed. If you want to keep your job, friends and still have your relatives wanting to talk to you, then you have to put on a happy face and keep your true feeling to yourself. Unfortunately.

No, I always say what I think for a question of principle.
What makes me act this way is a strong will for the truth and trust among humans!

We all wear masks to some degree. Some conceal more than others for reasons of their own but we all conceal our emotions.

It depends on the circumstances. If my dogs died I wouldn't care if anyone saw that I was upset. If I was upset because I had an argument with someone then I might not want anyone to see that I was angry.
