Absolutely (but make sure you spell check first!)
Try contacting letting agents to see if any of their properties need any fences repaired after the strong winds last weekend!

My business is seasonal too. I have a big advert in the BT phone book (cost me about £300 but lasts 12 months) and in lots of free online directories.
Regarding local advertising (classifieds etc), I think most people at this time of year are gearing up towards Christmas so it might be a bit of a waste of money.
I would leave it for December, then maybe fortnightly in January working up to weekly when the weather starts getting better.

If you do, why not pitch it at fence repairs ? small fry I know but at least it relavent to this time of year and it keeps your name out there.
Lots of wind and gales recently....
What about an a5 flyer though a few doors in each street, if you're a bit short of work a few hours doing this can't hurt. Mention the weather, mention "do you know any neighbours whos fence is down, or likey to come down","keep on top of those repairs with my seasonal offers", "special winter rates" etc
could you get adverts in local garden centres...special offer, "fit one panel, fit one free". You can price it to cover both. I know it sounds naff, but the garden centre goers fall for this sort of thing.
"tiler", do you mean interior tiles ?. I'd leave that until after Christmas, get into the January papers when all the sales are on in DIY shops.
...funny enough, our tiler was supposed to turn up today to do a bathroom....let me down, i'm really pleased i stayed up until midnight doing first fix electrics for him !
Best of luck with hunting out the work.

i would think this is the wrong time of the year.i manage a builders merchants and have a tradesmans board where you can free of charge advertise your business, why not suggest this to your merchants you use.the best advertisement is word of mouth so do a good job at a fair price and who knows.
good luck.

id say yeah why not, i mean if you advertise all year round people will soon getto know the name and possibly call you during the summer months and that, good luck
