I was wondering how i could go about blocking some users on a home network from downloading P2P files without them knowing. I have their IP and Mac addresses and have a netgear router. The router comes with firewall rules that you can implement to block usage such as Block all FTP, TCP, UDP etc but im not sure which one to use or if this is the right way of doing it.

block port 6880 - 6889 UDP/TCP (both) and see if this stops them from downloading.

Find out what port their download program uses. Different programs use different ports. Then block TCP traffic on that port.

If they are savvy, they will just specify a different port in their P2P application...
