Actually, I think the best answer is the United States of America.

Even though it isn't in the Southern Hemisphere, it has the ability to project force anywhere it wants to -- which is probably the definition of a superpower to begin with.

None right now. I think that, in terms of natural resources available to them, Brazil and Australia would be strong contenders.

You have to define "superpower" if is a super power like the USA, well, there is none, especially in the Southern Hemisphere. Next superpower to be is China,, very soon,, thanks to the USA.
