In theory it should get there next day, but in reality it will be at least two days.
Take it to the main post office boxes in Great King Street before 6:30 (ish) and it'll get there a lot quicker. Your letter will then go to Carlisle and then onto a train to a central sorting ofice in London and from there to its destination. The chances of it getting there next day are slim, but it may happen.
Knowing how the postmen in Locharbriggs work, you'll be lucky to have it delivered this year!

If you post it before 9am today, it should get there next day 1st class.
If you post it 2nd class it should arrive in 2-3 days.
