I want to find a local (ish) place to get my technics SL1200 turntables serviced/repaired-looked at etc... Does anyone know of somewhere???? Thanks in advance.!! Oh yeah im in London

The 1200 is one of the oldest and most documented pieces of audio equipment on the planet. This means that anyone with a basic knowledge of electronics can normally fault find and repair them. It's very rare that they cannot be fixed.
Have a look rond the web. There are sites dedicated to the repair and modification of these decks.

Try your local hi fi store, if there are any left. Otherwise you could call Technics/Panasonic for your nearest repair centre.

get semi catalog and get parts your self ie the qaurt speed control is £12
