Money...these days people are very picky about what they want....or maybe a gift certificate. The other typical gifts most people don't like anyway!!

I don't know about perfect, but I usually give a gift basket with a bottle of champagne, two champange flutes and several votive candles. Giving something like that is usually appreciated because it shows thought and it's romantic, and they can use it up, so it's not like having two toasters or another duplicate gift like that.

One of my Grandmothers put together, what we called a "Nanny Box". It contained: potholders, T towels, a toilet plunger and brush. a mouse trap, juice glasses,and many other things, that people don't ordinarily get as gifts, but need, when they are starting out.

When I got married me and my wife got the George Forman grill and we love it .we use it more than any other gift.
