You could make santa faces on paper plates, with cotton balls and red construction paper. Also You can trace their hands and make reindeer (their hands being the antlers). Or make ornaments, with any little artsy things you can find. Paper chains, popcorn strings, salt dough (but you need an oven to bake them), coloring sheets (you can even do the cotton balls etc to decorate those).

Hope that gives you an idea!

Have them make christmas cards. This way, the older ones can put more detail into them, and the younger ones can still do the craft. All you need is some construction paper, maybe some magazines (to cut pictures out of), some markers/crayons, scissors, glue...if you can find some foam, my kids love making cards and stuff from that too.

Have the kids make a gift for their moms! Find and use old baby food jars or any glass jars (you can buy them real cheap at wal-mart. even under 50 cents.). Have them paint the jars however they want and supply them with glitter and buttons and ribbon to decorate it. It's a candle holder!!!! You can buy a bag of tealights for cheap. Or splurge and get ones that smell good.

You can have them wrap them in boxes so they can present them to whoever on Christmas day!! That will kill some more time and keep them busy that much longer.

Paper snakes in red, green and gold. You just need paper and scissors. You start at one corner of the paper and cut about 1-2" into the paper and spiral around each corners until you're at the center of the paper. It's garland! You could use the same paper and make paper chain garland by cutting the paper into long strips, looping the paper, taping the loop shut, inserting more sheets for more loops...voila! A chain garland! Have fun!!! No running with scissors!

1)Large pinecones and make them into christmas trees. Have the kids glue small pomp pomps on them. You will have to make a base out of popscycle sticks. so that they stand on their own.

2) Large pinecones and small pinecones, paint white glue all over them then roll them in sparkles.

3) or a treat for the birds or squirrels..Wrap a wire around the pinecone, then Spread peanunt butter on the pinecones and roll in bird seed.!

make christmas ornaments. i made one with my 6 year old brother that was a christmas tree. i used brown & green felt, a small wooden star for the top, glitter, paint for ornaments on the tree, and ribbon to hang it up with. it takes less than half an hour to make but you have to include drying time. its fun and easy.

Get some paper (white and colored), some craft sticks (popsickle sticks); cotton balls (for snow), glue sticks, scissors. Let them make Christmas scenes, etc.
