Who should have played Ohio State in the BCS Championship Game Michigan or Florida?

Who should have is only a matter of opinion. As a Michigan fan I would tell you that of course they are better than Florida and they should be playing, but....
The voters spoke and they picked Florida over Michigan, so thats what we get. There is no wrong answer both teams are deserving of a shot, it just so happens that Michigan already had a shot.
If you want an argument ponder this thought - If USC beat UCLA and would be playing Ohio State would Florida still have jumped Michigan in the polls?
Or is Florida only better than Michigan because USC lost? I have to believe if USC won Michigan would still be ahead of Florida!!!
It doesn't matter I am happy with the BCS bowl game matchups! On January 9th we will all say either wow Florida was a great choice or Michigan should have had a 2nd chance, but as of right now, they got it right coming from a huge Michigan fan!

Florida because Michigan had their chance. The real problem is the Big 10 or 11 you might say. They need to add another team and divide into two divisions with a playoff championship game. In that way Ohio St. would have had to play Wisconsin. If they got by them then everyone would have been able to see a rematch of Ohio St and Michigan in the Big 10 championship game.
Blame the conference not the BCS for this mess. The PAC10 needs to do the same. Then all the powerhouse programs will be on a level playing field.

I truly think Michigan got the shaft on this one. But I also believe Ohio St is the best team in the country. This is coming from a huge Michigan Fan.I don't think even if Michigan was given a second chance they would win. But I do think Michigan is a better team than Florida. I'm really tired of these Florida fans saying Michigan got their chance and blew it. Florida's last championship came via a rematch in 1996 they lost to Florida st the last game of the season and were granted a rematch they won the game and the National Championship.Now Florida boo hoos saying Michigan had their chance. Hypocritical to say the least. Anyway doesn't really matter the gators will find out first hand how good the buckeyes are. this might be the best college team in a long while. Ohio St 38 Florida 14. Michigan wins the Rose Bowl and the big ten goes #1,#2 in the national rankings take that sec fans. LMAO I had to edit my anwser after reading pete's anwser Michigan Squeeked by Vandy.... 27-7 is not a squeaker...Michgan also out gained vandy 373 to 144 in total yards and held vandy to under 50 yards rushing. first downs 20 Michigan 9 Vandy. now lets look at the Florida v Vandy match up Florida 25 Vandy 19 Vandy outgained Florida 391-330 Vandy had more First downs 19-18 so if anybody squeaked by Vandy it was Florida not Michigan. Michigan beat them up and sent them back to the sec with their tails tucked between their legs. Pete get your facts straight!!!!!!

I believe Michigan should be playing Ohio State for the National Championship! People who say Michigan already had a shot are mistaken! They played for the Big Ten championship not the National title. I believe Michigan is a better team than Florida, in fact, USC is a better team than Florida. It doesn't matter either waybecause if Ohio State wins they will be deserving of the National title but irf Florida wins (which I doubt!) it will just prove the BCS system is a joke!

Who ever one the playoff that should have happened. Oh well, it's Ohio state all over Florida in the championship...well, not really all over but Ohio State will win!!!

I am a Michigan fan...so of course this may sound biased. However the only way we will know that Michigan should have played Ohio State is to have Michigan beat USC by 30 or more points and then have Ohio State stomp Florida in that same way. Rematch would have made for a better all around game. GO BLUE!

Here's a kicker for you. I think Ohio State should be playing Boise State in the National championship! Of course Boise State would lose, but so will Florida, as would Michigan (sorry Wolverine fans, there is no way Tressel loses to a team he just played and beat) and any other team who plays the Buckeyes. This Ohio State team(by the way I'm an Ole Miss fan) is the best college football team I have seen play in...well ever. It is a pleasure to watch them play. Sure they have talent, but their work ethic guides that talent, they just execute so well. And I don't think strength of schedule, or conference, or style points should have anything to do with who plays. If you go undefeated YOU SHOULD PLAY FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP! Anyway, I'm stepping off my soapbox, and in reality the BCS will improve with time, so let's see what happens!

oh come one, you guys at michigan had your chance and you blew it, just like texas. its time for another team to have there chance at them. at least you didn't go undefeated and get left out like Auburn did in 04! if the big 10 or the big 12 had to play against the sec's defenses week end and week out it would be a different story, just ask michigan, vandy gave you guys all you could handle and just squeaked by. if your not going to schedule goergia, tenn or alabama or any top calibur team then just quit complaining cause nobodys listening
mark it down....florida beats the buckeys 27-17, trussel won't be able to stop leak or tebow, michigan has a good defense but not like the gators. we will find out in 5 weeks.......

michigan should be playing ohio state but they did play them already and i think michigan would win if they played again but florida is also a good team and deserves a chance

Maybe they could make it like the World Series - Best of Seven.
Ohio State would have to beat Michigan FOUR times before they get "credit" for the Victory!
