You will need to get an estimate. Too my variables. However I can tell you that just to "upgrade" our service to the house for central heat and air was two thousand. To rewire our house on top of that was going to be about ten thousand.

We had ours competely rewired about 5 years ago.
It is a 4 bedroom / 2 bath house.
All new wiring and breakers
Outlets every 6 feet or so.
Ceiling fans in each room
Double switches for lights/ceiling fans
Vent fans in the bathrooms
A/C smoke alarms with batery backups in every room
New Doorbell
CAT-5 network cable pulled to every room
COAX pulled to every room

Total cost was around $5000

If you are talking low voltage (i.e. CAT5e, Coax, Speaker Wire, Ethernet etc,) it depends on your threshhold of financial pain, if you basement is unfinished, your attic is open, how easy it is to run wires, distribution points for the various systems, and your safety codes in your particular area. When I was designing for new construction, I always told my clients to plan for about $1.50 per sq. ft. (and that is low voltage...not electrical). Price also depends on where you live. I am from Chicago and things can be a little pricy here.

A good electrician will charge $75 to $100 per box. So add up how many outlets, light switches, and lights you have and you should have a good estimate. It will cost more if you are replacing your breaker box (approx $750 to $1000) Hope this helps :)

well there are lot of factors that determine that one the size of the house the type of wiring you use and the permits from the city in which you live and other items so I think if you calculate all of that you will come you with a pretty close figure.......Good Luck
