I didn't do anything to them, I understand them. I try to study about the black customs by watching BET and listening to rap. The other day there was a group of them talking to each other saying ***.ga this and ***.ga that so i went up to them to make friends and I was like, What's up my ******, what's crackin', Yo, I be bumpin' these lyrics hard. They got mad at me, but I was just trying to be one with their culture.

Well, I don't hate you, and I'm black (black-hispanic, to be more precise), if that's any consolation to you.

I wouldn't recommend ever calling a black person a "n----r," though, even if they're calling each other that.

Myself, I can't stand it when ANYBODY uses that word.

If you were hanging around with me, I'd like to see you just be the way you normally are.

There's no need to try to "act black" or "act hispanic" around me, because it means that you're focusing much more on my ethnicity than on me as an individual person. It means that you're seeing me first and foremost as a black person -- instead of just seeing me as a person, period.

In other words, just be yourself. Don't be a white person, or try to act like a black person -- just be a person. And treat everybody else -- black or white or Asian or whatever -- as a person too, without putting their ethnicity at the top of the priority list.

Every school is very hard. Some people have their own little groups that have been together for a long time. You were probably seen as an outsider. I would not suggest sayin the "n" word. It tends to upset people unless you are of color. You should be yourself and if they don't except you then it is their loss. Good luck to you. High School can be very difficult especially if you are new.

Stop trying to be "one with their culture". They don't want you there. You are not allowed to say the N word unless you are black. It's slang now. Best word of advice, try to find some friends that aren't in a "click". If you went up to any of the clicks just trying to talk like they do, then its going to be a no go. You need to find friends like yourself. I applaud you for trying to see above the segregation, but the world isn't ready for that yet.

African-American citizens their forefathers came to this country in extremely humiliating conditions called Slavery, a reality that is inseparable from our present course of actions.

The N-word was a gross example of that subjugating, humiliating experience. Just because a few African-Americans use that word among themselves in jest, doesn't give other races the right to use anything similar.

It is akin to calling someone's parents who died, "Bloody orphans" - however, the orphan himself may like to use that word sometime in private company. Get the logic.

Are you kidding me? You are lucky you didn't get beat up. You clearly sound like a racist. You generalize black people into one big category. I am sure not every black person in your school hates you unless you talk to all of them like this.
