Because of the separation, there is communication, but understanding is limited. You can never truly "know" the other person because you are not them. You are not inside their mind and heart. That's why there is so much MIScommunication. Trying to get through the red tape of separation always lessens the true meaning.

It's so funny that you asked this, my sister and I were just discussing it yesterday. My guess is no, true communication is not possible between any two individuals because (as someone stated earlier) the separation makes it impossible for anyone to truly understand another person. No matter how well you think you know somebody, it is impossible to know everything about them because you will never be able to hear the thoughts going on in their head or feel what they feel. So philosophically speaking, I would say that true communication is impossible. In all practicality though this doesn't really matter, we still manage to communicate well with others, even if we can't do it perfectly.

Good question.
I think the think there is an assumption in it though. That assumption is that we are "separate individual[s]."
Let me create a model of communication between separate beings.
Being A has a subjective thought. That being A translates into Objective sounds. Being B hears objective sounds and interprets them to subjective thoughts of person B.
So, communication, under that model is a creative interpretation of a bad translation of a thought.
This model seems inaccurate because it seems like we can accurately communicate with each other.
So, what could it be that is different? I theorize that we are not separate individuals; we are rather connected individuals. Being connected on a subjective level allows our ideas to transfer from one another without entering the objective world this is one model of how communication can actually exist.

Sure, but about 98% is bad communication and often misinterpreted.
