Failure is when you give up. When you stop trying too soon.
Meanwhile, I need to remind myself of this! I hate what I perceive as failure & rejection. I tried to be an actress & gave up after a year of auditions & frustrations & only got 1 commercial & a couple of modelling jobs. I saw myself as a failure but really I just gave up on that dream. Had I persisted, had I really been committed to it & kept trying, I might have "made it" in the industry. Of course, it may have taken 10 years & I wasn't willing to starve that long. & I couldn't stomach driving to anymore go-sees & auditions & not getting picked. Plus I didn't want to shell out more money for headshots...I tend to be a practical dreamer. The same thing with my poetry. I had several poems published but hundreds of rejections & I finally gave up on that. I give things a half-a$sed effort & then give up when the going gets tough. Then I call myself a failure but I'm really just a quitter. Right now I work at a job that I hate but that pays enough money to pay the mortgage. I still do the things I love on the side, but I don't expect to make a living at it. I wish I could! I wish I had the guts to give everything up & dedicate myself to my dreams full-time. I'd probably get a lot further with them...My current dreams (being a singer/songwriter/guitarist & an artist/painter) are still in the works. I'm going to try not to give up at the first sign of "failure" this time. Of course I still have my safe job to fall back on.
The only way to do anything in life is to try it. That means making mistakes, having disappointments along the way until eventually you get it right.
Persistence is the key! Never give up! Positive thinking helps. Being negative & calling yourself a failure is self-sabotage. Don't do it!

Mostly, "failure" is a state of mind.
Now, if you try something and it doesn't go well, well, then, it could be considered a failed attempt. But that certainly doesn't mean you shouldn't make additional attempts. The more you do anything, the better you get at it.
However, "failure" is closely related to giving up. So don't.

Failure is the state of mind people take when something doesnt go there way.
They tried it didnt work, and it affects them.
When it prevents you from continuining on what you initially hoped for, then you truly have reached failure.
But if you adapt, perservere, learned to try something different and contnue on..then your experience is by no means a failure, but ust an obstacle you had to overcome

Failure is derived from the notion that being COMPETITIVE is the correct way to behave in our society and that if we do not compete and win, we are no good.
An erroneous concept.
In the future we will probably replace that notion with COOPERATION which is more suitable for human beings.
So "failure" is an ugly word that we should never apply to anybody, even less to ourselves.

Failure is the lack of completion, plain and simple. It is not what something or someone is in general, but rather the result of trying something specific.
The word itself is so harsh that most people choose not to use it, except in extreme circumstances.

Well to "me," you're only a failure if you give up trying, whatever
method, whatever subject, or approach.
