For each of the following types of hybridization, identify the types (s,p,or d) of atomic orbitals and indicate how many atomic orbitals of each type are mixed to give each of the following sets of hybridized atomic orbitals: sp2 (triangular), dsp3 (trigonal bipyramidal), d2sp3 (octahedral). Also tell how many hybridized orbitals are formed in each case.

sp2 one s and two p orbitals are mixed to form three sp2 hybrid orbitals, having 33%s and 67% p character.
dsp3. five orbitals will mix to form 5 hybrid orbitals with 20%d ,20% s and 60% p character.
d2sp3, six hybrid orbitals of about 33% d, 16.6% s and 50.4% p character.
