Any ideas on what I should wear to my husband's great-grandmother's funeral this Friday. It's in Iowa and is going to be VERY cold.

Dress slacks in grey, blue, black, maroon. Nice blouse or sweater in any color, and dress coat....a long one would be warmest. Dark scarf and gloves...Sorry for your loss.....

Wow, good answers here. I'd say heavy, dark-coloured pants, and a dark-coloured sweater or other top. Layer layer layer! Tights or long johns under the pants... you could also go for some knee-high boots under the pants to be a little warmer. Go for a heavy, dark-coloured coat, long if possible (you would be surprised at the coats like this at the Goodwill!). Top it off with a scarf and hat--I'm a fan of wool berets! Black would be best, but sometimes you can't always wear black if you do not have the clothes. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Black or dark at least. Depending on how cold I'd wear a dress or pant suit and a heavy overcoat, gloves and if it is really cold a scarf. Again all in black or dark.
What I would not do is to wear a dark coat and something light underneath. Nor would I wear strappy shoes. Boots would be best and are perfectly acceptable.

Long black sweater dress w long sleeves and a black coat. Not the tight fitting sweater dress, but kind of lose but fitting. Hard to explain!

What ever you want. Maybe wear something that can warm you up up and warm up someone that needs comfort..like your kids or husband. Big warm coat that can wrap two people if need be.

dark shoes and thick socks.
long underwear if there's a graveside.
sweater over a blouse, probably dark.
doesn't have to be plain or black.
but long sleeved and conservative.
a duster if you have one or crochet jacket
then a big, dark formal winter coat.

I love long skirts. My bf prefers the brief ones. So my closet is loaded w/ 1/2 and 1/2.
