no ... the 1000 needles technique is available for purchase at teh mosphoran highwaste shop. and its a pretty lame technique unless ur a low level that made it out to the Highwastes early in the game by using the chocobo trick to scare away the guards... but its a definite NO on the killing 1000 cactoids thingy ;-) lol i cna just imagine starters trying to kill 1000 cactoids to get the technique early in the game...then nothing... >.<;; well at least they get to grind a little and get a 1000 LP lol...
oh and sakuchan... i tink ur referring to the item called a Bundle of Needles in Loot section....

No, it's a technick. You must first unlock it on the license board, and then purchase it at a technicks shop. It does 1,000 pts. damage, and requires no MP, so it's great (especially early in the game, when you don't have much magick or strong weapons).

My strategy guide says you can buy it for 7000 gil at Mosphoran Highwaste. But it would be SO COOL if you could get it by defeating 1K cactoids!

Well, I don't know about any technick called '1,ooo needles', but I know an item called 1,ooo needles. :\
Is that what your referring to?
