What is strength of character? It means this: Truth of self; usually defined by the things that happen to us, the accidents that befall us, for good or ill.

The little engine that could is a story of strength of character.

Now a virgin could be considered to have greater strength of character because he/she is waiting to participate in sex as per the commands of their God. However, virginity is not a thing that happens to you and is always is something you have complete control over. So it really isn't a test of strength of character.

Perhaps you think that the fortitude it takes not to have sex could spill over when an occurrence takes place that is not within control. Such as breast cancer. I fail to see how being a virgin would indicate that they will heal faster, healthier, and maintain a positive outlook.

The reality is this, virgins do not have any greater strength of character than non-virgins. Would the thought continue on that married men and women have shoddy strength of character because they are not virgins? It is ridiculous to say that, and your question could be read that way.

The truth of the matter is this. Virginity has nothing to do with strength of character. Truth of self is gain by experience and most virgins do not have life experience; they are young and have not yet left the protection of their parents. I feel that it is the parents (the non-virgins) that have great strength of character. They are raising a tiny human to be an upstanding person in society. That is hard work and dedication. There is no hard work in virginity.

This is not to say that virgins don't have strength of character but that their virginity is not a sign of their strength of character.

When one is a virgin, she is seen as pure, or whole because she has not yet had sex with someone. In the bible, it says to wait to have sex until you are married, and virgins seem to hold that value true. Also, it shows that that person is nut slutty, or doesnt sleep around, and it also shows that virgins have more respect for themselves (this is seen by other people, i myself am not a virgin). Non-virgins or people who have had sex have the character of being more permiscuous. Virgins just have a better reputation, but i believe that there are more people who are not virgins, than people who are virgins in the world. Hopefully ive answered your question how you want it answered and you'll give me 10 points!!! <3

It's not a "greater strength of character" as you put it but the FEAR FACTOR. The fear of the unknown. Women who have been sexually awakened know how good sex can be and are more apt to engage in it. It is those who do not excercise self-control and who try to gain love through sex who do not show discretion and thus may be perceived as having less character.

I think a code of Honor in both women and men (boys and girls) is extremely important and your body is the greatest gift you can give- its not sneezing you know! but I haven't been a virgin for 25 years so I think your question is more about waiting-Yes? Because I'm an extremely moral and upright person (but then so is my hubby of 20+ years) Non virgins, if you are thinking about younger people esp.- are living in the moment I think rather than thinking of consequences and future happenings-things "codes" for life, morals, sex and education and family can give you!

Because they can't crave what they never had. Is why is easier for a virgin to say no, than for a non virgin.

I guess we don't let one thing fuel all of our emotions and actions.

But that is a very, very broad generalization that isn't valid.

Having a hymen doesn't make your character stronger. Maybe your willpower, but not your character. Judge not.
