The Nintendo Wii features a white console that's small and can be displayed either vertically or horizontally depending on your preferences. Backwards compatibility means that you can play your old Game Cube games on the Wii in addition to the new Wii games. You can play with an amazing wireless controller, as well as play online with lots of other gamers thanks to the Wii Channel. Even when the unit is turned off, it is connected to your high speed Internet.

Then there's the Play Station 3. This incredible system can do basically everything the Wii can. It also features backwards compatibility, a sleek size, wireless capabilities and an online presence so that gamers can interact, chat and play. Not only that, but there are lots of great upcoming game titles created for use on the Play Station 3. This unit can also play audio CDs and DVD movies.

Because both the Nintendo Wii and the Sony Play Station 3 are so advanced, they are very eagerly anticipated. People are placing expensive pre-orders for these models, and it's guaranteed that there will be lines of consumers on the release dates clamoring for their chance at one of these systems. Which one you should choose will probably depend on which system you're already used to playing. If you've been playing a Nintendo for years, then you'll probably want to get the Wii so you can enjoy favorite games like Legend of Zelda and Super Mario. For Play Station gamers, the Ps3 will be well-liked and play all your old games as well as hot new ones. If you're choosing one of these systems as a gift, either one of them is sure to be gratefully received this holiday season!

Depending on what types of games you like. My son is 9 and has an X-box, X-box360, Gamecube, PS2, PSP, Gameboy and Gameboy advance. We are actually buying him both the PS3 and the Nintendo Wii because of the different types of games and graphics of the games. Nintendo Wii has proven that more physical interaction will help the gamer's addiction to become more physical and get more of a workout per say. The PS3 is more expensive, but have you seen how awesome it is. I think it is a matter of opinion and what exactly you are looking for in a gaming system.

The Wii. My god, is it fun. My mother and I walked into a gamestop and challenged the managers to some Wii Sports the other night. Then we drank with some of the workers. Good times.
