Happy Birthday is "Buon compleanno".-
If she says that there is a holiday Thursday 12/07 it should mean she is in the area of Milan's since the Dec.7th is the day of patron saint of Milan Saint Ambrose (Sant'Ambrogio - hence inhabitans of Milan's area are called in Italian also "ambrosiani" besides "milanesi"). Saint Ambrose, bishop of Milan , was one of the most eminent bishops of the 4th century. The day after Dec.8th is the "Immacolata Concezione" (The Immaculate Conception). This is a Roman Catholic dogma that asserts that Mary, the mother of Jesus, was preserved by God from the stain of original sin at the time of her own conception. The Immaculate Conception was solemnly defined as a dogma by Pope Pius IX in his constitution Ineffabilis Deus, published December 8, 1854

Well, since I'm a teen I usually expect a happy birthday from everybody in my family :P and I always do. Maybe they forgot? Or you could simply say straight-out that you'd like to be wished a happy birthday other than your mother for once. Maybe they'll listen =)
