I need to find the square footage of a building in my home city. Blueprints would also be very helpful.

For every building in a city or town, the city clerk is required to keep a copy of the blueprints. This is necessary for a number of reasons, premits, inspections etc. They are all a matter of public record.. All you have to do is go down there and request the drawings. There may be a fee but you can usually view them right there for free.
