last night my husband and i were intimate and afterwards i started to bleed. so right away i called my midwife and she was asking the color and stuff and she said burgandy was the "safe" color, which it is. i was sore last night but im not anymore. im 14 weeks and 1 day, and she said im in the "safe zone" now, and that the bleeding is caused from the vessels in the soft cervix being ruptured. she told me to call her today to see if it stopped, and it hasnt all the way yet, but its gettin lighter and lighter. it wasnt ever heavy from the beginning, but it was going stop and go all last night. theres no cramping what so ever, and no heavy blood or tissue. now theres blood only when i wipe.i had a miscarriage before and this is not the same thing. i feel my baby is fine and healthy still. she(my midiwfe) also asked if i felt preg. and i do. i was wondering if anyone who has had this before, is it really something to worry about, and how long does it usually bleed for??

Sometimes a woman can bleed all through her pregnancy. Normally, a midwife or ob/gyn will put you on bed rest and not permit sexual intercourse. I worry about you because I also bled during my pregnancy. On April 11, my husband and I were sexually intimate and less than 12 hours later I was admitted to the hospital for having a miscarriage. With you being 14 weeks along, you're less likely to miscarry--most miscarriages happen in the first trimester. If you worry yourself too much, you may induce yourself with stress. Take it easy for a while, hydrate yourself, maybe even stop having sex for a few days, and see if the bleeding stops. Sometimes sex is just painful or nonpainful but causes bleeding during pregnancy. Since all of your organs shift and there are many changes within the vagina, such as the temperature, it could be something simple as that. I wish you the best with your pregnancy and a beautiful baby after the 40 weeks are over! :)

Could just of happen because of the angle your husband was at during sex. I've had three children and noticed during the pregnancies I could only have sex at certain angles. As time goes on it will get better. Just learn what way feels the best for you and do not be scared to have sex. They also say it is good to have sex all the way up till you give birth. Coagulation and good luck.

This is a very common cause of bleeding during pregnancy because the blood vessels in your cervix are engorged from the pregnancy.

go with what you feel , if you feel that something is not right. no matter what the color is or how much.. you can never be to sure... go the the hospital and have them do a sonogram and check you out... especially if you had a miscarriage once before. good luck
