Well there is no special instrument to find Granite under a soil cover or sub-surfce or hiddendeposit. By geophysical method we can fairly guess the hard stones like graniate. By geochemical methods like sampling the soil we can fairly guess the underneath rocks. As the grnite is hard rock they leave their signatures on the srface. Again geomorphological investigation also gives faiarly accurate guess to the hidden granite deposit.

Occurrence

The Stawamus Chief is a granite monolith in British ColumbiaGranite is currently known only on Earth where it forms a major part of continental crust. Granite occurs as relatively small, less than 100 km² stock-like masses and as large batholiths often associated with orogenic mountain ranges and is frequently of great extent. Small dikes of granitic composition called aplites are associated with granite margins. In some locations very coarse-grained pegmatite masses occur with granite.

Granite has been intruded into the crust of the Earth during all geologic periods; much of it is of Precambrian age. Granite is widely distributed throughout the continental crust of the Earth and is the most abundant basement rock that underlies the relatively thin sedimentary veneer of the continents.

Despite being fairly common throughout the world, the areas with the most commercial granite quarries are located in the Scandinavian Peninsula (mostly in Finland and Norway), Spain (mostly Galicia and Asturias), Brazil, India and several countries in the South end of the African continent, namely Angola, Namibia, Zimbabwe and South Africa.

Granit deposits are found by geochimical prospection.

And by watching the Flingstones!

If you soul is your mind, then Hell by definition must be a state of mind. You only need a physical hot place if you are torturing a body, & the temperatures beneath the Earth's crust are Toxic not Torturous. Torture would be summer in Washington D.C. surrounded by pathetic losers wanting a handout. So anyone out there who've wished Obama would go to Hell - that will be these next few months.

You might try a gravitometer, which is an instrument that measures the force of gravity. Granite is denser than sediments, but lighter than basalt. Why you would want to do this is beyond me, but it is your money to waste anyway you see fit.
