Yes. The word "latino" in English, is someone that comes from the countries that speak latin languages in America. Brazil speaks Portuguese, that is a latin language, so we are latinos.
Some Brazilian may refuse the latino label because they know what people think of latinos beeing, but one should not reject what is because of what other people think.
Now, let's make one thing clear. Latino is not a race. The people of mixed spanish and indigenous background is called "mestizo". And there are lots of whites, blacks, indigenous and even asian people in all Spanish America.
And whites, blacks, indigenous and asian Latin Americans are as latinos as the mestizos.

I use to think that latino ment decent from the latin language.. meaning ... the Italians .. the French ..Portuguese ... Mexican.. but i lately i've been reading that i think latino is only the countries in cenrtal and south america.
I'm brazilian.. and if that is the case.. then i dont agree with it. Since Brazil is just like the US... Many of us are NOT mixed with Spanish.. and/or Indian.. unlike many of the other south american countries. We are caucasian. We are descendants from Europe.. The Germans .. Italians.. French..
I am white.. i'm caucasian ... unless theres such thing as a white latin ?

All Brazilians I know do not consider themsleves to be latinos. Brazil is quite distinct from the rest of Latin America - i.e, language, ancestry, culture.
Also, many Argentines, Uruguayans and Chileans will also say they are not latinos since they are much more European-like countries.
