My musical tastes are very eccentric and eclectic. I listen to black metal, death metal, folk metal, viking metal, funeral doom, doom, industrial, goth, classic rock, classic music, and anything that I feel has a presence regardless of the genre. Why should a person limit himself? We all have different moods and if you listen to just one genre of music, you're limiting yourself to one way of thinking. The only music I cannot appreciate is rap and teeny bopper pop music. Some of my favorites are: Chopin, Enslaved, Bathory, Celtic Frost, Venom, Amon Amarth, Opeth, Turisas, Agalloch, Immortal, Darkthrone, Dark Funeral, Lord Belial, Death, Anathema, Atrocity, Leaves Eyes, Theatre of Tragedy, Satyricon, Dimmu Borgir, Hecate Enthroned, Sins of Thy Beloved, Tristania, Sentenced, Siebenburgen, old Metallica, Six Feet Under, Cannibal Corpse, Nile, Krisiun, Samael, Tiamat, Old Man's Child, Wumpscut, KMFDM, Abigor, Summoning, Mortiis, Enya, Paganini, Beethoven, Flowing Tears, old Slayer, old Fear Factory, Tool, Nine Inch Nails, Razed in Black, Switchblade Symphony, Umbra et Imago, and COUNTLESS others.

I have the unfortunately unpopular opinion that jam bands are great. I love the bluesy, rockin' ones like The Black Crowes, North Mississippi All Stars, and moe., but I also love the really funky ones like Umphrey's Mcgee (I'm an "Umphreak," get it?), Lotus, and Particle. As I get older, I also appreciate more and more the "chill" ones like The Grateful Dead, The Assembly of Dust, and Animal Liberation Orchestra.

Metal (Heavy, Power, Thrash, Death, Doom, Black, Viking, Folk)
Rock (Rock and Roll, Hard, Progressive, Blues, Psychedelic)
Jazz and Jazz-Fusion
Classical
Orchestral (Movie and Video Game scores)
Grunge
Punk

I just thought that I'd add this - It's a pet peeve of mine when someone says that they listen to all types of music. They mean that they listen to all popular types of music. Very few people that say that really mean that they listen to many, many different types of music like klezmer, rai, samba, bossa nova, tropicalia, zydeco, etc.

Mostly electronic music like electro, house, nu school breakbeats, drum and bass, techno, minimal, disco, rock, Japanese pop, punk, goth and very underground hip hop. Nothing that gets radio play.
