It is not going to happen government is like a junkie once a tax is establish they are never going to give it up, can someone please name me a tax that the government would like to abolish.

No I don't think so because not only do those taxes go to infrastructure building they also tend to restrict the use of gasoline. If all taxes were removed people would just go on another glut and make the situation even worse then it is. Also, some of those taxes are being used to stimulate growth of the alternative fuels market. I don't know if high gas costs impacts the poor as much as it does the lower middle class who are still out there working in marginal jobs and sometimes traveling distances to work, or doing small businesses that are service oriented and have transportation costs. I would love it if gas would come down 75 or 80 cents but it would just cost us in the long run and the whole probelm with energy and fuel supplies is that we have always taken the short sighted route and now are just beginning to pay the cost of doing that.

These taxes pay for things- at least in areas where there are too many cars I feel like we are sharing the upkeep as well as the destruction by use- if anything we should be able to look up where the money went but they are needed- just not all the porkbelly that is probably mixed in-

And replace it with what? We run a deficit each year which means the government doesn't have enough money. Why would you reduce the amount of money the government has, unless of course you plan on reducing spending by the billions of dollars of lost revenue.

i don't think so.
gasoline is one of the mos successful businesses in America. that means it is a better opportunity for the federal government to make money of us. if the government remove taxes, our government would always be in need.
in order words, taxes are what make our government rich.

Yes.. We pay too much for that stuff anyhow. Goverment officials are getting rich off us!
