I have some postage stamps that for one reason or another seem to have passed through the postal sytem with no trace or mark on them. Can I cut them out and use them again or are they marked invisably, somehow? I sent a package using these stamps last Friday and it hasn't arrived at it's destination yet. Thanks

Not Legally.

It is a Federal Crime. See this pdf from the US Postal Service web site:

totally dude! I've done it before, only works if they haven't been visibly stamped already. I suggest holding the old envelope over the steam from a kettle and the stamp will peel right off then you dont have to cut it out - thats a bit obvious :)

It is illegal to send the same stamp thru the post twice.
I used to work in a stamp co.
It is also a bit rude to that lovely post office!
There may well be a mark somewhere.
if it is detected, ur post may be returned.........
if ur lucky.
some stamps have uv activated security features. i think the uk ones do.
I would not take the risk personally or want to.

honest answer.

good luck.

If it hasn't been franked then go for it but steam it off over a kettle rather than cutting it out and glue it on the letter/package,

I believe that is illegal to reuse a postage stamp...not sure how they would tell at post office if it has not been stamped though.

If it is not franked then by all means reuse it. The failure of the delivery you mention is probably due to the rising volume of mail going into the system.
