This is not to say that such things matter.

I know that others do not perceive me as I do myself -- been plaugued by that all my life. I am shy and have trouble talking with others, but I have been told I am cold and stand-offish, instead. But once someone takes the time to listen to me, we get past that. Then, I think I am able to communicate who and what I really am and make myself clearly understood. Good question!

Sadly I am not percieved by others in a way that i think is fair or just. But who is to say who is right. People hear what they want to hear and see what they want to see. No amount of attempts at communication can change that.
No doubt I am guilty of the same. we all judge others, usually unfairly.
