I worked labor and delivery at a hospital for 3 years, had friends ask these type of questions, the answer is yes. In fact with the technology that we have today 6 days is sufficient. While a urine tests needs a few weeks for sufficient hormones to build up in the body. HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) tests of the blood can detect pregnancy as early as 6-12 after fertilization.

edit-I came back and re-read other answers so i thought i would add this edit: hCG levels when found in the bloodstream can be located in as small ammounts as 1ml per unit of blood. While urine tests can located hCG anywhere between 20ml per unit to 100ml per unit. hCG levels due tend to double but certainly not every day, that much of an increase in hCG is a sign of birth defects. levels of 1200 or below double in 48 to 72 hrs. Levels between 1200 to 6000 double in 72 - 96 hrs. And levels above 6000 double in 4 days or more to double.

And although blood tests can detect hCG at levels of 1ml per unit of blood. A doctor won't ussually confirm pregnancy until at least 25ml per unit is detected.

I know that it would show up in a blood test but as for the home pregnancy test it is most likely too early to detect the HCG level in the urine. I took a pregnancy test and it was 2 weeks after conception and the reason I know this is because I took a pregnancy test before that and found out it was negative and we were trying for another child so after that I took a test and it was negative but felt that it was wrong so I waited a few more days and it turned up a very very faint positive so waited a few more days and it turned out to be a normal blue line not faint anymore. If you think that you are pregnant wait a few more days since the HCG levels double everyday. Good luck to you.

While it is possible, it is very much not likely.

It is almost impossible to pinpoint the exact day of conception. Assuming you had that day correct, you then must wait an additional 5-12 days for the embryo to implant.

No hormones will be present in your system until the embryo implants, which is usually right around when you would have gotten your period.

It's best to just bite your lip and wait the extra week. If you are thinking that you are feeling symptoms, check out twoweekwait.com.

No i dont think that there is a pregnancy test out there to detect pregnancy that soon. You would have to go to the dr office and get a blood test. The earliest one available is first response and that will detext pregnancy 5 days before your missed period.
