i kind-of agree with Fiona - its not that your more good looking or worthy! (though you may be- she may make u shine ) when your out with your g/f. - but in my opinion its the fact that you have one that makes you more appealing- your an obviously safe flirt cos they know you wouldn't want any thing more than a giggle.
If you acted on it I'm sure the girls your on about would run.. They just want a laugh at the end of the night, and a bit of gossip for the next day at work. Now the slags on the other hand.... forget them!!

They are most probably jealous of the friendship, happiness, love and affection you and your girlfriend are enjoying.
They will flirt with you in the hope that you return their attention, and that your girlfriend will notice and will get upset with you. Driving a wedge between you will take away the cause of their jealousy (and, in a small way, make them feel they've "won" you from you're girlfriend).
An alternative, more simplistic, explanation is that a woman will be drawn to a man who shows himself to be caring and loving: if you are out alone, for all the other woman knows you might be smelly/loopy/unpleasant/weird. If however you're out with your girlfriend, the other woman knows you're worth having because you're clearly good enough for your girlfriend so probably good enough for her.

I once had this discussion with one of my exes (we were dating at the time). Whenever we would go out anywhere together in public other women would check him out. (He was a very attractive guy.) But he too said that women checked him out much more often when he was with me than when he was alone or with other guys. He thought that it was because - when a man is with a woman, it is a message to the other women that she has approved of him meaning there is a better chance that he is a good guy and would be a good father for her children, and is in fact a better choice. When he is alone, he is still attractive, but you don't have that same feeling of safeness that you get when another woman has approved of the man. Anyway, I like his explanation.. it sounds good to me!

Yeh thats strange, perhaps you feel more confident and happy when your girlfriend is there and girls pick up on this, there are plenty of bunny boilers who love the challenge of flirting with someone elses guy.
