It was estimated the "N" word had been used 150 times on the same stage over the past week
prior to Richards remarks, now two want money because they say they were offended..LOL! I've listened to one "activist" after the other talking about their outrage and talking about the poor morals of Richards. It seems to me that these people can talk to us about morals when 9 out of 10 household in the black community are not headed by women..then we can hear their "moral" speeches. then tell us why the black population that is 12% yet 50% of the prision population is black...explain this...then we can talk about morals. Clean you own house FIRST...then let's have this talk about the "N" word.

agree?

From my perspective, I'm not sure what the big deal is. I've been to a lot of comedy shows...I've heard black comics give it to whites and blacks MUCH worse than that, latin comics give it to latins, blacks, and whites MUCH worse than that....Comics are always complaining about freedom of expression and it's their right, and hell even their duty to cross the line and push the envelope, but then when a white guy's talking trash to some black guys, all of the sudden....."oooohhhhh....he crossed the line".....it's hypocritical and bullsh&#...

What's really disturbing is that it probably wouldn't have made news at all if he hadn't said "******".

Why is so much attention is focused on a word? It's a WORD! For those who don't think it should ever be used unless you have the right skin tone, you are just empowering those who would use the word to belittle and denigrate you.

Either everybody uses a word or nobody uses it. Period. Those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it but those who live in the past can't move towards their future.

This whole classification of who has "****** privileges" is stupid. "Ok...you can use it...and you, you're fine....ummm, hell no, not you honky....you can use it...and you too....not you...your mom's black, but your dad's white, so you can only say it on Monday, Wednesday, and every other Friday....you're Black, but damn you are LIGHT, so you can say it but only to other light-skinned Blacks"....on and on and on.....DUMB!

On one hand everybody wants a color-blind society, but then everybody wants to insulate certain groups and highlight how some groups are special and need to be treated differently. So make up your mind, are you an equal or are you so fragile and need to be singled out for special treatment?

If Chris Rock could say what he wanted ( "Nothing a white man with a penny hates more than a ****** with a nickel," he jokes ...)
and Eddy Murphy (The first ****** who tried that ****... Somebody said, "******, bale this cotton" and he said "**** you, Massa"... )
, man, he sure had a mouth on him when he first became known then why do you fault a guy ( white or not) for what he said? You can't have it both ways!

I watched a tv show that talked about how Bill Cosby was going into black neibourhoods and telling kids to smarten up and learn proper English not the slang of the day because anyone who ever makes anything out of themselves does not do it by talking ghetto. That applies to this, don't go crying wolf about the N word when the blackman use the word themselves including icons such as Chris Rock and Eddie Murphy then tell Richards ohh you are a verrrrry bad man you said the N word!!!!

There was also an interview lately done with a Black Congress Man who said he thinks black people need to stop whinning and be more accountable. You said it about the percentage of blacks involved in crime. These people need to stop crying the blues and work at life and quit blaming everyone else! Don' tell us that we need to help you because of your neighborhoods being a mess or ask for money when we call you the same names you call yourselves. Clean up your act and your mouth and work at the same jobs the rest of us did in our formative years!

If a single parent homeless man can become successful then why can't anyone else? Look at Chris Gardner he never when looking for charity he did what he needed to do to break the cycle... Stop blaming vocabulary as being the blocking factor to success when some people are allowed to use the word and other are not it's just relvant to the sistuations at hand. How can you make it funny when Murphy says it and make it traumatic when Richards does?

I remember I said the N word when I was about 11 or 12, I heard it from a Friend, I got my mouth washed out with soap, so I was raised with the word being a negative word, While I do think very strongly that black people are just like white people, Chinese people, polish people Jewish people, catholic people whatever, ALL GROUPS have good people, bad people, fat people skinny people, caring people selfish people bigoted people, or whatever, .and there are allot of black people I would rather live next door to than allot of white people I know of. You would be surprised how most blacks were not for welfare, they thought it weakened them, But even though the N word term could be used in different ways, it does not help there cause when the word is used so much in the black community. I remember after being raised the way I was, that it was a bad word, hearing black folks say it, was kind of shocking to me at first, if this makes any sense?

No he wasn't wrong, he called them according to what they were acting like. Why are they offended in the video they result to call Michael Richards a Crackerass White Boy, that is racial slurs too, so if they think he was out of hand, so were they for the same thing. Go figure that they want money though, that's the way most of them are raised to try and find easy money and milk a situation for their own personal gain. Here's something I found out, 13% of the population in the US is black, and according to the FBI more that 50% of homicides are commited by blacks, that's the morals and values they grow up arond. I think Michael Richards got frustrated and said what he had to say, they deserved it and they should up about it, leave the man be.

I don't personally use that particular word. I watched the video of what happened and the comic was actually called a racist name first by the audience. That would piss me off too, I can see why he called them a similar name in defense. People don't want to consider that though, a product of reverse prejudism. Another thing that pisses me off is all the dumb a s s es that want to sue him. Hell, I heard it on TV and I'm sensitive to the race issues in our country so I think that I will sue him too. These bastards that are acting insulted are the same audience members who were being loud and obnoxious during the actor's performance. The comedian got pissed and mentioned something about the distractions and they started yelling and calling him names, then he went off and called them a name. Big deal, so what, who gives a s h it , you whiny fuh king bastards, get over it dips h i t.

He was wrong to use that word. Now these "activists" are wrong to seek compensation for being "offended." Most of the comedy out there right now seeks to offend. At least the ones who are getting paid seem to take to line of thinking, Mencia, Chappelle, South Park, Seen any of the Comedy Central Roasts lately?

Is Michael Richards is wrong? Yes. Are Black people wrong for saying too? Yes. But Blacks do not see it that way. It is a double standard since they can call whites, Crackers and other racism name without outrage.

Maybe he was wrong in the anger he projected, but I believe that when they are offended by such names then maybe they should not use themselves. Hypocrites and seeking a free ride is what I can think of. Get off the ship and live life right and maybe they wouldn't be so singled out. And drop the African-American bull, not one of them come from Africa. How many others go by Italian-American, German-American, Irish-American, so on so on so on and so on.

my belief, is that two wrongs ,dont make a right.
Michael's, was wrong to ., subject people to his own private views, on race.. and lets face it , it was his honestly that got him into this mess.
i wouldn't mind, but if anyone had the time to do abit of back round work on him, id say he is of some foreign descend himself, with the dark features.
so there we ,go double standards for Hollywood celebs, now that's comedy.ps, no race of people shoud put up with this kind of ignorent view of them. live and let live.

Yes i agree he was wrong to let his anger take over. You make some good points. It is really wrong for them to sue because they said some bad things to him. Maybe Richards should sue them because he was offended by their remarks.
