I tend to name animals nonhuman-type names. I had a dog named 'Rover', a guinea pig named 'Piggy', a rat named 'Ratty' and cat named 'Gone'. Absolutely no ingenuity here except for the cat.
The cat was a stray and everytime my sister and I contemplated naming the cat and said aloud "What should we call the cat?", my grouchy father, who hated cats, would say "Call it gone!" Hence, upon taking the sick stray to the vet, when asked what it's name was my sister and I abruptly answered "GONE!!!!" *laugh

i prefer names of GODS and GODDESSES. i have a ZEUS right now. but i've also had an APOLLO, and an ISIS. most of my pets have been rescues and they come with names. if i get them before they are 6 months, i try to rename them especially if they've had bad experiences. seems to give them a whole new start.
