I have been on the contraceptive pill for 3 years and my periods are always very light, i mentioned this to the nurse when i went to collect the last lot of pills and she said it was quite normal to change your period either heavey or light. Anyway my last period might as well of been non existant. i've been with my boyfriend for three years and i doubt any pregnancy as i never forget my pills but is it normal for my period to be like this.
Thanks for answers.

first of all, the nurse was right. and whoever said she was is wrong - have you gone to nursing school? - I did not think so.
There are many reasons that you can skip periods aside from , the pills effects. Stress, more activity, eating less, illness, and pregnancy. You can take a pregnancy test but only 1 out of 100 women will get pregnant taking the pill - incorrectly.

yes.. i am the same... they can sometimes be extremely heavy or as you said may aswell not be there and just being basically a pain in the backside. You shouldnt be pregnant as you are taking your pills. there is nothing at all to worry about. I hope that i have helped.

This can be quite normal. My partner who is on the pill gets extreemly light periods.

Sometimes it is down to the type or strenght of the pill you are using. see your gp to discuss changing it.

Yes mine stopped but my doctor took me off of them for a while. If you are very worried then go and speak to your own doctor or family planning clinic to put your mind at rest

You need to speak with your doctor, not his nurse. It sounds like the pill you are taking is too strong for you. Ask him to change it.
