I'm planning to take a holiday for about 10 days in mid January, to do some serious diving. I've previously done diving in southern Thailand and would love to explore more diving spots in Asia. Any suggestions for good destinations, especially those for living-aboard diving excursions?

Either Red Sea or Truk lagoon both are fabulous and you go do liveaboards at both. Take a look here http://www.explorers.co.uk/aboutUS.aspx

Egypt - the Red Sea - has some fabulous diving spots and is a cheap holiday destination. Weather in January will be HOT. I've dived the Great Barrier Reef which was great, and the Red Sea is just as good.
